In-game, items are split across two separate inventories: bombs and items. I've chosen to split them into six categories to easier identify them
Bombs | Items | Upgrades |
Quest items | Bomb crafting | Dungeon kit |
Throughout the game you can acquire new bombs by crafting various items, each with a unique trait specialised for certain situations.
"Normal Bomb."
The regular variety of bomb - detonates after 3 seconds with a cross-shaped explosion. You should be familiar with these!
ACQUIRED: You begin the game with this item.
"Enemies won't see this kind of bomb."
Landmines will remain on the ground until they are detonated or you leave the screen. They will detonate even if Bomberman treads on them, so think carefully before you place one!
ACQUIRED: Get the Sensor from Temmay and get it fused at the Bomb Shop.
"Only works in the water."
Necessary to protect yourself during the underwater areas of the Beach Zone. Otherwise, rather unnecessary.
ACQUIRED: Get the RainDrop from Sampei and get it fused at the Bomb Shop.
"Can move bomb while holding A."
Bomberman is motionless while the bomb is controlled. Let go of the A Button to stop it. The bomb will still detonate even if you're in control, so place it fast!
ACQUIRED: Get the trans. by winning five Karabon fights in a row; take it to the Bomb Shop.
"Gets stronger the longer it's held."
Pick up and hold the bomb; every second held will increase its blast radius once it's thrown. Maximum blast radius is 10 tiles. Too slow and unwieldy to use, to be honest.
ACQUIRED: Get the balloon from a knight and get it fused at the Bomb Shop.
"Goes through all breakable blocks."
Functions like a Penetration Bomb and burns straight through soft blocks. Would've been nice to have had it way earlier in the game, though.
ACQUIRED: Buy a hammer in Theta and get it fused at the Bomb Shop.
Items that can be found on the overworld or bought in shops.
"Recover 1 Heart."
Select this from the item menu to refill one heart. Only one can be carried at a time. If any extra are picked up, they are are automatically used.
ACQUIRED: Dropped by defeated enemies.
"Full health!"
A very valuable item, and can be bought in any store for 100G. Only one can be carried at a time.
ACQUIRED: Found in treasure chests or bought in shops. 100G.
Used to buy items from the shop. Come in three flavours: 1G (they never face the screen), 5G (silver) and 10G (gold).
ACQUIRED: Dropped by defeated enemies.
Increase the battle stats of your currently selected Karabon. Come in three flavours: Offensive (sword), Defensive (shield) and Special (star).
ACQUIRED: Found by destroying soft blocks.
Found in dungeons, these will boost Bomberman's statistics in one way or another, either his speed, his health, or his bomb power.
