Grid City.
This techno metropolis maintained peace and order through an array of advanced technology until one day it is transformed by a single computer virus.
The virus infects the mother computer that governs the city, and its mechanised army, once dedicated to protecting its citizens, is also affected by the propagating virus and begins to run amok.
The city is utterly paralysed as the virus hacks into each of the city's areas one by one.
The populace flees for its lives as a massive fireball is erected around the network area in the new ghost town, cutting off all access.
LOGIN: BOMBERMAN
All hope rests with a program inserted into Grid City's cyberspace to reclaim it from the grip of the virus. It is named after a legendary warrior said to have once saved the planet.
Can it now save Grid City?

[info coming whenever!]
This game and its unique armour are referenced in Bomb #7 of Ba-Ba-Ba-Ba-Bakuretsu Bomberman.
It's a stretch, but not to be confused with Bomberman II on the NES.
