A positively jam-packed preview for Mario Tennis on Nintendo 64.
I was really, really excited for this game back before its release, and this preview is to blame – it’s funny how dotting clipart of Mario characters around a page can really bring a sport like tennis to life! I had absolutely no familiarity with the sport then, but these needlessly in-depth pages really sold it, highlighting the gimmicks, the characters, and the variety of ways one can hit a ball with a racket. Buddy, when you know Yoshi and Bowser are involved, even mundane stuff like that seems exciting.
