“Free poster”

from Official Nintendo Magazine issue 69 (June 1998)

Jesus fuck. Would you want this hanging up on your wall? I mean, a Star Fox 64 poster was enough to give a friend of mine nightmares, I don’t know what this would’ve given him.
It’s a pity because it’s actually a pretty sweet action shot. If it was anything other than that gormless, frightening Forsaken face gazing at you I’d say it’d be worth having.

I think Snagglepuss would’ve been a better fit, though.

Ok, I wasn’t going to bring this up, but because Forsaken has popped up again:

I was watching an old tape of MST3k episodes taped off Comedy Central in the ’90s, and there was a TV ad for Forsaken. It looked like Descent, except there was lots of whisper-chanting of “THE FUTURE IS FORSAKEN”.

I might reword that as, “[if] FORSAKEN [is] THE FUTURE [of video games, we’re all in a lot of trouble]”

The fact that Forsaken got pushed enough to get a TV commercial weirds me out a little bit! I mean, outside of all these previews and interviews and tie-ins, I have never heard of the game in all these years. Did they start a campaign to bury all knowledge of it after release?
