I still think Diglett has a protruding pink mouth

There’s a lot of things I don’t give a hoot about, but I love discussing them with people. I’d like to say that I enjoy discussing politics with similarly cynical people, but, well, no, I don’t. It’s an exercise in losing my will to live. What I do enjoy discussing, however, is Pokémon! With select people, of course. With any old Tom, Dick or Harry it also becomes an exercise in losing my will to live. I do not care to discuss the tournament rules of Pokémon battling, buddy, just give me a debate about why people think Gardevoir is so attractive and then I can get my Freudian ball rolling.

Namely, something I was discussing recently was the leakage of, well, everything from the new games Black & White. All one hundred and fifty something of the new creatures? Everyone knows what they are now, apparently! I was shown this little creature…

… and I was rather… offput by it.

It looked like some kinda freaky fish thing given an ill-fitting body. Like a Snorunt decided to sand itself into a rounded fish-like shape, acquired a thin lanky body and an oversized pair of pants. Those beady little e-y-e-s

Turns out it’s just meant to be a bug-eyed lizard. I was interpreting its nostrils as its eyes. At least this incident was resolved quickly and didn’t plague me for years like the last time this happened (see 11 September 2008 entry!).

I lost interest in Pokemon when the numbers went ridiculous.

Who exactly have you been talking to that says Gardevoir is attractive? At least they didn’t say Lopunny is attractive.

  • MightyKombat says:

The internet saud Gardevoir was attractive. WEll, Rule 34 anyway

I don’t personally know anyone who has the hots for Gardevoir, but as MightyKombat implies, basically every fanart site ever has frighteningly sexualised imagery of the creature, usually paired up with Zero Suit Samus. Yeah, I go to all kinds of terrible sites.

I tried discussing with someone why Gardevoir is so popular, and he suggested that it’s because she’s the most human-like feminine Pokemon available… but personally, she looks like a coat to me. I came to a rather unfortunate conclusion based off that fact.

The funny (or maybe just terrible) thing about that is that Gardevoir isn’t even necessarily a “she”. It has an equal probability of being male…

  • MightyKombat says:

Now Samus I can consider just about bangable thaks to being mostly human (The other non human bits being the Chozo DNA and all that)

And thanks to teh Gardevoir-can-be-a-male thing, inb4Bridget

I just realized the bug-eyed lizard thing is wearing pants so baggy it has to hold them up with its hands.

And it looks so smarmy when doing so the goit.
