A self-proclaimed master of all things magical, shopping around her talents hoping to make it rich through as little effort as possible.

bio

Abbey is a self-proclaimed "mage extraordinaire", presenting the image of a powerful and capable magic-user, shopping her alleged skills to people in need.
In actuality, all her greatest spells come from the tomes she stole; her actual spell-casting prowess leaves much to be desired, having flunked from the Guild of Hospitality Artes on account of having no interest in serving others.

Abbey likes to make a first impression that sweeps people off their feet, but is otherwise very guarded and cynical; a possible fear that if people get too close, they'll see her for a hack. She is capable and talented, a veritable jack of all trades (albeit master of none), but lacks drive -- why put the work in when someone else can do it for her?
She aspires to have a palace to call her own and all her needs catered for, to never work a day in her life... but until then, she has no choice but to hustle, and preferably by grifting and delegating as much of it as she can. In the meantime, she has an awful knack for being deemed trustworthy and considerate by those who get to know her, despite her best efforts.

magic

Abbey typically casts magic using tomes -- thick-bound books with 'pre-made' magic spells woven into their pages. She raided most of them from the Guild of Hospitality Artes without even knowing their contents. Some are all-purpose attack or utility spells, some are far more esoteric, and a couple are actually where beasts or beings of great power have been sealed away. She'll find a use for anything, even if it's for bargaining or bluffing.

She's capable of casting magic herself, but rarely to great effect. She does know a healing spell, but its properties are so unpleasant it's more often used to keep people debilitated for an entire day; it makes them fighting fit eventually, but it's not a pleasant experience, and as such reserved for people she doesn't like.

Casting box-like barriers is the one spell Abbey learnt herself without the Guild's teaching, and is her trademark, used for various purposes -- as platforms, to wield like a blunt instrument, to box things in, or more tellingly, to keep people out.

key features!

(test outfit, in no way concrete! give her something fancy!)

Hair: Short with a long fringe, typically swept over one eye or to the side. Probably short at the back like an undercut? I envision it as stark white, but I figure she can dye it if she pleases.

Prominent nose: I just think noses are neat! Admittedly undecided if this would be a cartoon schnozz in the vein of, say, Snowboard Kids, or simply inspired by realistic profiles on the likes of Isy Suttie, Shazia Mirza, or whoever else I think has a lovely nose.

Twiggy physique: Abbey is tall and thin, with barely a curve on her. She's strong enough to lug a heavy tome around and swing a mean bat, but most of her volume comes from her clothes.

Clothing: Abbey's base attire is probably merely functional; she might style them however she can, but she's used to living with only the bare essentials.

Coat/upper layer: The aforementioned volume! I typically picture her in big massive fur-lined coats, but anything that adds an extra flowy layer works too -- ponchos, sweaters tied around the shoulders, whatever.
