Unseen Objects

A big cheers to Mr_Beacon00 (信标先生) for working out a way to see these, and making all the discoveries on this page! His code replaces one of the prisoners in Mission 1 with whatever object ID is assigned. To see these for yourself, it requires the usage of Cheat Engine 6.83 and this .CT address table. It's optimised for use with WinKawaks 1.65.

To use:

If there are numbers under the Values column, success!
If not, double-click the Address of the cheats and confirm that the .EXE file under Pointer matches the .EXE at the top of Cheat Engine's window. If the Address is "WinKawaks.EXE" but the window says "WinKawaks 1.65.EXE", you'll have to add that "1.65" to it!

This code will modify the object ID of the prisoner partway into Mission 1, after defeating the soldier on the camel, but only when it is off-screen, before it has 'loaded' into the level; no change will occur while the object is on-screen.

"Obj ID" is the core object, while "Obj Sub ID A", "B", etc., are modifiers that vary from object to object; some will change enemy behaviour, some determine what objects crates and prisoners are holding, movement speed, direction, and other properties.
The Obj ID increases in increments of 4 - setting the value to anything in between will crash or freeze the game.
For best results, make a save state after defeating the camel so you can quickly change values, and set all Sub IDs to 0.

ID: 552


Abul Abbas, the Ajirabian leader seen throughout Mission 1. By applying the following sub-IDs:
Sub-ID A: 0
Sub-ID B: 50
Sub-Id C: 1
This will cause Abul will wave his surrender flag endlessly... until the player turns their back, in which case he'll approach them and stab them in the back! Turning to face him will make him play innocent with the flag again. He cannot be harmed when he is waving the flag, but if attacked during his walking or stabbing animation, he will explode bloodily - a death animation that is not otherwise seen in this game, and only visible in Metal Slug X by deftly-timed easter egg.

The unused cat! Comes in white, tabby and black variants. It walks forward and sits down every few steps. If it approaches a ledge, it will jump down to a lower platform. It's purely decorative and cannot be interacted with or collected as a point item.

ID: 640

The white monkey is normally a collectible point item, but this variant has a mind of its own! It will bounce around away from the player, unless there is an item on-screen, in which case it will walk towards it and destroy it by pounding its fist. The item's point value will be displayed in pink, but not added to your score total. The cheeky imp! All of the animations associated with this behaviour are unused.

The crank, found in Mission 5. Setting sub-ID to 0 or 2 will make its arrow face left or right, directions it never faces in this game or its Neo Geo sequels.
