Deep in the jungle lies the Crystal Tower, where the monstrous Crator is sealed. The Hige Hige Bandits, wishing to conquer the world, released the beast by stealing the crystals and put it under their control using a mind control device - allowing them to travel through time!

Bomberman is informed of this by Dr. Ein and Kepo; he's the only one capable of taking on this band of time-terrorising thugs!

Very much a spiritual sequel to Bomberman '94, this one carries on its brand of single-player, including a new score-focused Master Game... but what everyone remembers it for is its ten - count 'em! - 10-player battle mode. No other home console instalment has matched that number, I'll tell you what.

Besides introducing Mujoe, MechaDoc and the Tirra, this game also boasts lush 2D graphics, a CD-quality soundtrack, and a number of Hudson Soft character cameos. For the Battle Game alone, this game sees plenty of praise as one of the series' best instalments.

Shogakukan published a guidebook for this game.
