The Brave Hero of the Universe, Star Saber

The series starts off with quite a strange introduction sequence at a part of Earth. It looks kind of like a Western really. We see two generic Decepticons causing havoc in a town, causing it's peaceful population running for cover as buildings are destroyed. But another robot approaches and the two Decepticons open fire on him, but with no effect.
 

The new robot continues to get closer and then draws out a large energy sword. The Decepticons engage him with both laser blasts and melee attacks but they can't hit him as he's too fast for them. The new robot then uses his sword to draw in energy and destroys both of the Decepticons with it. Who is this robot? He's Star Saber, the new Autobot commander!
 

The narrator then quickly fills us in on what's happened between the end of Masterforce and the start of this series. When God Ginrai and the Godmasters defeated Devil-Z, Overlord took the Decepticons back out into space and continued to invade worlds and devastate them. The Autobots created the "Galactic Defence Force" to combat them efficiently. The HQ for the GDF is located on Planet V, a planet some distance away from Earth, and it is controlled by Star Saber.
 

Meanwhile, in space, a mysterious figure sends forward six red beams of light which contain new Decepticons -the Dinoforce. Led by Goryu, the force consists of Kakuryu, Gairyu, Yokuryu, Rairyu and Doryu, they attack and destroy a human space station and then head towards the a lunar base to steal all of the energy from there.

Star Saber gets a report from Wingwaver, who tells him that a human lunar base is under attack by Decepticons, so he heads out towards it. At another Autobot base Blacker is talking to God Ginrai when Holi and Jan appear telling them about the Decepticon attack. Blacker meets up with his fellow Brainmasters Braver and Laster as they head towards the lunar base, but God Ginrai has been sent to deal with Overlord, who is still alive.
 

The Dinoforce are already attacking the lunar base, and the humans inside it are forced into evacuating. As the Dinoforce moves in close, they all "trans-out" and leave their dinosaur bodies behind to reveal their true robot forms. Blacker, Braver and Laster arrive at the base and start to fight the Decepticons, but they're outnumbered two to one.

 

Braver goes to help evacuate the humans but before he get get to the lunar base Goryu beats him down as Blacker and Laster continue to fight the other Dinoforce members. Dashtacker and Machtackle then arrive but with the humans still in danger they can't join the fight yet, so instead Blacker sends them to help the evacuation as Star Saber gets closer to the lunar base.
 

As Star Saber approaches he transforms and stops to find a bright light in front of him. A sinister laugh is heard and a lone Decepticon flies towards him, it's Deszaras, Star Saber's arch enemy and the new leader of the Decepticons! Deszaras wants to fight but Star Saber can't stop as he has to get to the lunar base and blasts off before Deszaras can get to him.
 

Star Saber finally arrives at the lunar base and meets up with Blacker and his team. He orders them to go and help Machtackle and Dashtacker in evacuating the humans whilst he takes on the Dinoforce. Moments later the humans take off with Machtackle and Dashtacker providing an escort for them as Blacker and Laster head back to the battle. Whilst Star Saber has defeated the Dinoforce, Deszaras has followed him and challenges him to a fight.
 

As the two start to battle it out Deszaras uses the "brest attack" - where the two animal robots on his chest transform and attack, but they don't prove to be of much use here as Star Saber defeats both of them. The two of them then go for their swords and enter a duel, and eventually Deszaras is blasted backwards, defeated.
 

He's not dead though and his ship, the Thunder Arrow, arrives just in time to save his hide. Deszaras promises Star Saber that he will defeat him one day and then blasts off into space with the Dinoforce in pursuit. Jan and Holi arrive as all of the present Autobots look from the moon at the Earth and Star Saber says that they will defend the Earth and protect it ay any cost.

To make things clear from the off, Star Saber is usually seen in either of his two robot modes:

The one on the left is usually shown when he's just standing around talking, the one on the right is usually the mode he uses during fights.

And a note about the Dinforce: the things that look like actual dinosaurs are "shells" which the robots hide in. The robots then yell "trans-out!" when they depart from their shells. The robot modes do actually have transformation modes, but they are never seen in the series as they were not very good toy wise. The only exception to the trans-out rule is Goryu, who is always seen riding on the back of his dinosaur shell, rather than being inside it.

Star Saber and Deszaras know each other, but how they first came to meet won't be shown until later on in the series.

The opening scene for this episode is set at a place called "Iron Town" which has many strange inhabitants. On one shot, you can see the back of what appears to be a Junkion styled robot, along with a Ewok from Star Wars at the bottom. In another shot of a group of robots running, you can see a Lithone style robot, who appears to be coloured like Kranix, along with a tiny elephant and a Jawa. Crazy.
