An Enemy? The Third Godmaster, Ranger
With the Autobots getting a second Godmaster, the news does not go down well at the Decepticon base where Giga and Mega get angry and annoyed with Hydra and Buster for making up excuses and talking so big whilst delivering no results at all. But everyone is then silenced when Devil Z starts talking, who is also outraged at the situation and tells them not to let any more fall into Autobot hands, and says to scan the memories of Hydra and Buster's Transtectors to try and fine out more information on where the other Godmasters could be.

The Autobots have all met at Diver's Ocean research institute to welcome their new friend Lightfoot, and after saying hi they plan their next move, and it's to find the other Godmasters. They actually may have a lead however as Lightfoot has told them that the ore used to build his car came from the Canadian rocky mountains, so the Autobots plan to go there, although Diver and Phoenix can't go due to work commitments. But all of the others decide to go and with Lander being a geology specialist, he could come in handy.
The Decepticons carry out their leaders advice and Mega gets her computer to start scanning the jets for any clues or hints on where they can find what they want. And the scanning pays off because it reveals a map of North America, and that's where they must start searching.
Later on the Autobot group has a base camp set up and as Ginrai, Lander, Hawk and Lightfoot go off to start looking for the mine where the ore was found, they leave Shūta, Cab and Minerva to find them some food so they can have something to eat later on. The Decepticons also arrive in the same area, and the Godmaster brothers lave Wilder, Bullhorn and Cancer to take a look around, although they say they won't find anything useful, and then they leave. Their snobby attitude doesn't go down well with the three, so Wilder suggests that they just mess around doing nothing instead.
The four Autobots reach the very mine where the ore made to make Lightfoot's car came from, and they head off to look inside. But before they do go in, a forest patrolman appears and tells them not to go in as there have been a lot of cave-ins recently, but his warnings are not listened to. Later on, Minerva is collecting mushrooms when she sees a beautiful log cabin...
...but she sees that Bullhorn is outside, talking to the same forest patrolman shown earlier. Bullhorn has been asking for directions and then runs off, but for whatever reason Minerva thinks that the patrolman could be a Decepticon Godmaster! She heads back to tell Shūta and Cab, who are trying to fish for King salmon but are instead catching stupid things like logs, but they then see that same patrolman walk down as he is doing a spot of fishing.
Minerva is cautious but the patrolman impresses the two boys by catching a nice big salmon within seconds. They go over to take a closer look and are told that the reason he catches fish so easily is the special home-made bait that he uses, and he gives some to Cab to try, which also results in him catching an even bigger fish within seconds.
The patrolman introduces himself - his name is Ranger, and he lives in the big log cabin nearby. He tells them that they can drop by anytime if they need anything, and Cab tells Minerva to come over and say hello, but she won't budge as she still thinks that Ranger is an enemy. As he heads back for home, the kids head back to their tent and as most of the group enjoy the food, Hawk and Lander take a look at the rock sample they've bought back with them but Lander can find nothing special about it.
As night settles in, a heavy wind starts and is in danger of blowing the Autobot's tent away, despite their efforts in trying to hold it down. So Cab says they should go to Ranger's house instead, and even though Minerva doesn't want to they all head there. Bullhorn is also taking Wilder and Cancer there but they see the Autobots at the door and instead decide to spy on their enemies as Ranger lets all of the Autobots inside his home.
Minerva finally tells Shūta and Cab what she saw earlier and thinks that Ranger may be a Decepticon, but Cab says that he' way to nice to be one of those. Meanwhile Ranger says how he enjoys the quiet life here and painting, and that he loves the mountain he lives near and that he climbs it often. Ginrai asks if anything strange ever happened when he climbed it, but Ranger says there was nothing out of the usual apart from one time when he was out on patrol he found a strange rock and hauled it back down to his stable, thinking it may be rare ore. This instantly gets the Autobot's attention and even though the storm is still going on strong, they demand to see it right now, so Ranger takes them.
And as they get closer, Ginrai and Lightfoot's master braces start to glow, and then the ore itself starts to shine as the Autobots see that they are standing in front of a Transtector. They then puts some braces on Ranger, which also glow briefly when they are put on and he can't take them off, meaning that he is one of them now - a Transformer! And to celebrate that, Ranger says something
hilarious.
As night turns to morning and the storm ends, Ranger is given a brief history of the Transformers, and the war between the Autobots and Decepticons, and how they would like it for him to join them in their battle against evil, although he can't quite believe that people can change into robots. But then, the Decepticon Headmaster Jrs start destroying the stable, steal the Transtector, shoot at Ranger's house so it catches fire and then run away.
The Autobot Godmasters and Pretenders go after the fleeing Decepticons, and tell the others to wait behind and help Ranger out and stop his house from being burnt to the ground. The Decepticons see that they are being chased and start firing, but Lightfoot leaps up and shoots the Transtector out of Wilder's hands, causing it to tumble down a hill.
The other Autobots deal with Bullhorn and Cancer, and tell Ginrai to go after Wilder, who has run off down the hill to try and get the Transtector before anyone else. Back at Ranger's cabin, he and Minerva are trying to save his horse, who was injured in the Decepticon attack, but it doesn't look good. But this does have a positive point for the Autobots, as already Ranger hates the Decepticons and decides to get a little payback with one of his rifles.
Meanwhile Wilder gets the Transtector back, but then Ginrai tackles him and they both fall into a river, and when Ginrai resurfaces, he has the object of everyone's desires, and starts to swim back to shore. But the the Decepticon Godmasters arrive and distract him, as Wilder then grabs onto Ginrai and pushes him down. Hydra and Buster then combine their jets and have the bright idea of dropping depth charges everywhere, even though Wilder is still in the river.
Their plan to blast Ginrai out of the river works, and both he and the Transtector and flung onto some land. As the two Decepticons transform to their robot modes to get the Transtector from him, Ranger appears above them all and shoots Hydra between the eyes, but then Buster shoots out the land where Ranger is standing.
As Ranger falls to what seems to be certain death, Ginrai tells him to quickly cross his arms and shout "Masterforce!". Ranger does this, and with a quick white flash he is suddenly in a suit of armour!
Ginrai then tells him to say "Transform, God on!" and as Ranger does this, the Transtector begins to glow and then a dune buggy vehicle appears which Ranger merges with, revealing his new robot mode for the first time.
The other Autobots then arrive, meaning that it's
eight of them against just two Decepticons. At the other side of the river, Wilder pulls himself out and the other Headmaster Jrs say they must help Hydra and Buster, but he says that because they tried to kill him as well as Ginrai with the depth-charges, they won't bother helping and they all run off. Hydra and Buster see that they have failed and transform and blast off.
Naturally, today's result does not go down at all well with Devil Z, who tortures most of his minions and as they beg for their lives, he tells them all that they will obtain the remaining Godmasters.
Back with the Autobots, Ranger can't believe that Minerva thought he was a Decepticon, which she apoligises for as Hawk says it was a great pity about his cabin, although he says he can always rebuild it, but for now, he'll be in their care. And this of course means to all of the other's delight that Ranger has decided to join them.
When Ginrai first used the masterforce, it only happened because he accidentally put one of his arms on top of the other, and he didn't even have to say anything. With Lightfoot, when he put his braces on, his arms were automatically pulled together and he didn't have to say anything to get it to work either. But for Ranger, not only did he have to cross his arms but he also had to shout "Masterforce!" himself when he first used the masterforce. Maybe it didn't like that fact that he thought Transformers were a circus group.
