A Strange Friendship: Cancer and Minerva
Ginrai is out driving in his truck when suddenly, a tornado appears before him and starts to suck up the road from the floor, taking the truck with it and tossing it about! When Ginrai comes to he is out of his truck, which has been tipped on it's side, but he isn't alone for long though as a strange glowing sphere appears before him.
The sphere shoots out green beams of energy to eventually trap him, but then
three other spheres of light fly from out of the sky towards Ginrai and shoot at the sphere, which explodes a few seconds after taking the hits. As Ginrai is released he looks at the three other spheres and sees something inside them, and realises what they are.
But then he wakes up and comments on what a strange dream it was to have. It's only six in the morning but he gets up and goes out to his truck, and gets inside the cab to start cleaning the windows, but he then sees something in the glove compartment - three more pairs of master braces have mysteriously appeared!
Ginrai goes back to Diver, who in turn contacts Hawk, and he is told about the three new sets of master braces appearing out of nowhere. Ginrai's getting fed up of this kind of weird stuff happening to him all the time, but Hawk asks him to come to Japan, so they can discuss this. Ginrai thinks that it's going to be another attempt to get him to join the Autobots, but he says that he'll think about it when he gets a break from work.
At the Decepticon base, the humans are all watching footage of Ginrai from the last time he was seen fighting against them. Whilst Hydra and Buster still want to destroy him, Mega is more worried about the locations of the four remaining Godmasters as they must get them on the side of the Decepticons, and she has the two Godmaster brothers sent out to search. Blood then runs in saying that Gilmer and Dauros have seen a person who looks like Ginrai board a boat heading towards Japan, so she sends Wilder, Bullhorn and Cancer out to find out more.
Meanwhile Ginrai arrives in Japan and the three Autobot Headmaster Jrs are there to greet him at the dock, as he tells them that he hasn't visited his home country for over two years. They all roll out back to the Autobot base, but the Decepticon Headmaster Jrs saw them at the dock and are following them through the forest next to the road.
But Shūta sees their movements thanks to his vehicle's rear view mirror and only tells Cab to stop whilst Ginrai and Minerva continue on. He tells Cab that he has an idea and they both transform and head into the forest, where they startle the Decepticons and tell them that they won't be going any further. As they start to fight, Minerva is wondering where Shūta and Cab have gone and Ginrai goes back to find out.
The truth is that neither Shūta and Cab or doing that well against the three Decepticons, as Ginrai rolls up they are already battered down until the Decepticons see the truck and decide to attack him instead. But a Godmaster is much more powerful than a Headmaster, and even though the three of them all go to attack him at the same time, he beats them down quickly and easily.
When Wilder comes to, he finds that Bullhorn is still around, but Cancer is nowhere to be seen. They have no idea where he could have gone and start to search for him, but the reality is that Ginrai has taken him back to the Autobot base and has him handcuffed to a bed, which Shūta and Cab find hilarious but Minerva thinks it's cruel. Hawk and Ginrai leave the room and tell the others to keep a watch on their new captive.
Minerva still thinks that it's cruel and is surprised at Ginrai, who is suppose to be one of their team-mates, to treat Cancer like this. She starts to treat his injuries whilst Ginrai and Hawk take a look at the other pairs of master braces, and they are identical to Ginrai's, which can only mean one thing -there are three more Godmasters out there, and there are 3 people who are destined to become super-robot
life forms, they just don't know it yet.
But the more Ginrai thinks about this the angrier he gets, as he went to America to find freedom, but thanks to the Transformers his freedom has been tied down and now the Decepticons are after him. he wants to know more about the Godmasters and runs into the room where Cancer is and starts demanding he tell him everything he knows about these types of robot. At first nothing gets anywhere until Minerva gives Cancer a drink and then Hawk tells the three kids to step outside for a moment.
The kids try and listen through the door but Minerva gets a better idea and uses a computer to view through a camera into the room and see what is going on. Ginrai has changed tactics and promised he won't hurt Cancer or anything, and he starts to explain everything he knows. Giga and Mega told him that Godmasters are godly beings from the depths of space, who serve as messengers for the Decepticons. They were originally just one entity, but when it reached the Earth it split up into seven "offspring", which all fell into different parts of the Earth whilst the main entity fell into the sea. It was not until many years later that the main body awakened, and Giga and Mega merged with it. Hydra and Buster merged with another part offspring, Ginrai merged with another, and now there are still four more out there, but Cancer claims that they belong to the Decepticons. Ginrai and Hawk then leave the room again.
Cancer's talk comes as a bit of a surprise to everyone, because it means that there are still actually four Godmasters still out there, but they have only gotten three sets of Master braces. Ginrai says that they can still use their hostage to try and find out some more, and go back in to let him go, but Ginrai secretly plants a tracking device on him.
The Autobot Headmaster Jrs are given the task of transporting Cancer out of the base and do so with him blindfolded so he won't know the location. Meanwhile Wilder and Bullhorn are still looking for him when Hydra and Buster find them and want to know what they are doing, but they don't get to explain as they see the Autobots dropping off their friend and letting him go.
He soon finds the Decepticons as Wilder and Bullhorn are glad to have him back, but Hydra detects something and finds the tracking device, and can't believe that the Autobots would try something like this. He breaks the device and transforms as Shūta and Cab attack, but neither of them are a match for him and he beats them both down with one attack.
Ginrai rushes to the scene and starts to fight Hydra by giving him a good few punches in the face. But then Buster makes his power play be showing everyone that he's holding a gun to Minerva's head and says he'll put a hole in her head, and that's when Hydra flips Ginrai over and then returns the favour in terms of being punched in the face a lot.
Cancer then does something strange though and yanks Minerva aside and also takes Buster's gun and demands that they don't kill anybody! This gives Ginrai enough time to smash Hydra up into the air and then punch him again, and the Decepticon tells all of the others to fall back. He and Buster immediately transform and blast off.
Ginrai makes sure Wilder and Bullhorn leave by asking them if they still want to fight now, and as they run off Minerva thanks Cancer for saving her, but he says that it was just a returned favour for the drink she gave him. When they get back to their base, Mega yells at Wilder and Bullhorn by saying that they were careless and having Cancer put so through much pain, but she's glad that he is
okay, whilst the other two aren't really sure what to think.
There is then one very quick scene to end the episode, where the narrator says that another secret about the Godmasters has been revealed, and the determination to protect the Earth as an Autobot has arisen from the selfishness in Ginrai's heart. But the bigger picture that the Autobots need to look at is the four other Godmasters who are somewhere on Earth.
It is never revealed where those
three new sets of Master braces came from.
Giga and Mega's explanation of where the Godmasters came from is nothing but lies. See the FAQ page for more information on that.
