The Final Showdown on Earth Part 1

The Decepticons have returned to Earth before the Autobots could stop them and already they are up to no good. In Athens, a tour guide takes a group around a coliseum but the group is forced to flee the area when a large rocket erupts out of the ground. Pounce and Wingspan launch the rocket, which heads up into space and breaks up to reveal a satellite, marking the start of Zarak's master plan.

Soon after this a cruise ship is attacked about two kilometres from Lisbon, and reports reach through to Autobot City where Spike and Carly are having to run things since the Autobots still haven't returned yet. The two recent Decepticons disturbances are bought up on a map and Spike reckons that the Decepticons must have a base somewhere between the 2 places. A little later on Spike sends out the Protectobots, Throttlebots and Autobot clones to the attacked areas to see what the Decepticons are doing.

Fortress and the others head back to Earth, and Metroplex contacts them saying that the Decepticons have been up to no good and are attacking various places. The Autobots head toward the Earth at full speed and enter it's atmosphere, completely unaware that Sixshot has hitched himself a ride on the ship's exterior.

Meanwhile the Protectobots are called out to Canberra in Australia as something very strange has suddenly appeared there. As they arrive, they see a large silver tower before them which has burst out from under the ground. Bruticus then appears and tells the Autobots that the "death towers" cannot be destroyed and then starts to charge towards them, as they form into Defensor and start to fight each other.

As the other Autobots land on Earth they are greeted by Metroplex, who explains that Australia and South America have been attacked and that these death tower things have appeared. Pointblank takes Sureshot and Crosshairs to South America to find out what these death towers actually do, whilst the others head back inside to figure out what the Decepticons are planning. Fortress says that this is just the start and that these death towers will be used to destroy the Earth and more of them will appear.

Arcee then bursts into the room explaining that Spike and Carly's aircraft (they were on the way to check things in South America) developed a fault and has made an emergency landing in the Andes, and the fate of Daniel's parents is unknown. Chromedome tells Daniel that they'll go and look for them and assures him that they are still alive, and they take the Trainbots to the Andes.

Fortress meanwhile goes off to talk to Punch, who tells him that Zarak's last instruction was for him to spy on the Autobots and track their movements. As Counterpunch left Scorponok he turned around to see that it had completely vanished without a trace, and he doesn't know where it went. Punch then tells Fortress he'll go back as Counterpunch to try and find out any more information on what the Decepticons plan to do.

In South America the Throttlebots and Autobot clones attack Predaking but he beats them down. The Targetmasters then arrive and Pointblank shows how strong the Targetmasters are by taking down Predaking by himself with one shot. They then look at the death tower, and it starts to give incredible energy readings, as it turns the sky all dark and starts to generate large amounts of energy.

The Autobots arrive in the Andes and find the downed plane. Everyone has survived but they are having to rescue a few people who have fallen down a small crevice with rope. Carly is also one of the ones down there and she is unconscious. To make matters worse the Autobots are far too big to get down there so Daniel says he'll go to save his mother and is lowered down by Wheelie.

Bruticus has seen off Defensor, just as the Decepticon clones arrive to tell him that they are pulling out, the death tower here is fully working and they need to move onto getting the others ready. Bruticus moans that he was having fun beating up Defensor but heads off with them anyway.

Daniel gets to his mother and carries her upwards thanks to Wheelie pulling him up. Daniel nearly falls but manages to get a grip again and Wheelie continues to pull him up, and soon enough they reach the top.

Fortress looks at a world map and sees the locations of the two current death towers, and he finds out that they are extracting energy straight from the Earth's core. Arcee asks if there is anyway to destroy the towers but Fortress says that doing something like that could be too dangerous as they don't know what kind of after effect it might have. Chromedome then contacts them saying that the rescue operation has succeeded thanks to Daniel.

Sixshot finds Bruticus, Pounce and Wingspan who tell him that the Australia mission is complete and that they are now heading to the North Pole to rendezvous with Zarak. They've got no idea that Sixshot isn't with the Decepticons anymore but he plays along and now has the information he wanted. The Decepticon clones tell Bruticus to go on ahead and he does, whilst they talk to Sixshot.

The clones explain that as Zarak was heading back towards Earth he ordered them to send out the satellite we saw take off earlier into space. The satellite will collect all of the plasma energy that will be released when the Earth explodes. They then turn to leave for the North Pole... but Sixshot punches them both and then smashes their heads together, seemingly killing them both, and then he flies off.

Back with the Autobots, Spike explains to Fortress that thanks to Daniel, Carly has been saved. The Autobot Targetmasters then return and have found out that the death towers are covered in something called "gliss", an ancient substance which comes from the sea, and is extremely rare. Once the substance comes into contact with energy, it emits dangerous electro-magnetic waves and it looks like there is no way in destroying the death towers.

At the Autobots think about what they are going to do, a third death tower appears in Washington and instantly starts to emit the electro-magnetic waves. The narrator ends this first part saying that the Autobots must find a way to stop Zarak's evil scheme and save the Earth.

During the fight between Defensor and Bruticus, Defensor left arm is shot off, but he uses scramble power to swap it around with his left leg. This is known as scramble power, something which was given way more detail in the Japanese exclusive Scramble City, but this is the only time it's ever appeared in Transformers again, I think.
