Explosion on Mars!! Maximus is in Danger!
This episode begins with the narrator explaining a little bit about he planet Mars, saying that's it's half the size of Earth and
all that. But then, two spaceship type things fly towards the planet and crash straight into the north and south poles of Mars. These spaceships are actually bombs which detonate the moment they crash and due to the damage they do Mars is destroyed!
Oh hold on, what we just saw was a simulation on a Decepticon computer. Zarak explains that if they destroy Mars, a lot of plasma energy will be released, which they can use to finish the completion of the ultimate Decepticon weapon, and then destroy the Autobots forever. Soundblaster shows the other Decepticons what they are going to do: set lots of bombs at key points on the plant along with
two bombs at the north and south poles. The destruction will be so great when the bombs go off that Mars will blow up.
And guess who happens to be on Mars right now? That's right, it's a group of Autobots. Spike's conducting a geographical survey of Mars with the Trainbots whilst Daniel and Wheelie are busy being dicks and making lots of noise. The whole planet suddenly starts to shake and Shouki finds out that there has been an explosion at the south pole of the plant, so the Trainbots transform and go to investigate.
Shouki takes Daniel and Wheelie with him and they find a plume of black smoke. They then see a couple of Decepticons leave the area and report it to Spike. Spike wonders what the Decepticons are doing on Mars and contacts the Athenia Autobot base to tell them what's going on. Fortress sends out the Headmasters and Broadside to investigate.
Fortress remains on Athenia with Arcee and the two notice that a lot of energy is appearing around planet Zarak. On the planet, the new weapon which has been long in the making is nearing it's completion, and Zarak watches it whilst thinking that the next time he meets Fortress, he'll destroy him.
On Earth Ultra Magnus is told about the situation on Mars, and he sends the Technobots send out to help. But before they can leave Trypticon attacks them, so Ultra Magnus has Metroplex give them some back-up. Magus tells the Technobots to go again...
...but Sixshot then appears and the Technobots have to fight him instead, meaning again they are delayed in getting to Mars. Metroplex meanwhile transforms into his robot mode to fight Trypticon.
The Headmasters arrive on Mars and find that most of the Trainbots are fighting the Predacons. Spike tells them that Daniel and Wheelie are with Shouki and are watching Decepticon movements near a large crater. Chromedome tells the Trainbots to go and find Shouki whilst they deal with the Predacons.
Outside the crater Shouki wonders what the Decepticons are doing inside, but he is suddenly shot in the back. The Terrorcons have got them surrounded and take the Autobots inside the crater just before the other Trainbots and Spike arrive. Spike says that this was the last position that the others were registered at, but they don't appear to be there now.
Back at the battle the Predacons merge into Predaking but the Autobot Headmasters prove to be too fast for him and he is knocked down when the Autobots all charge into him at the same time. The Autobot Headmasters then head to regroup with the Trainbots.
Inside the crater meanwhile the Terrorcons imprison the captured Autobots and say that they might prove to be useful later on, and even if they aren't they'll just die anyway when Mars explodes so it's a win-win situation for the Decepticons. Most of the Terrorcons then leave and head to a different area to start planting more bombs. However the Autobots now know what the Decepticons are doing on Mars and Daniel is most concerned as if Mars blows up the debris from it could collide with the Earth and destroy it.
With Trypticon and Sixshot still preventing the Technobots from leaving Earth, Ultra Magnus contact Fortress and updates him on this. Fortress decides that he must go but he is holding back because, as feared, he has not yet fully recovered all his energy from destroying the plant monster (see the previous episode) and is unable to transform into his giant robot form if needed. Back on Mars Daniel gets Wheelie to pretend to fight him and tells him to throw his Autobot symbol into the energy bars to destroy it...
...as this sends off a signal to Spike. Spike receives it and thanks to this he knows the location of the captured Autobots. The Autobot
Headmasters find out where their friends are being held and chase of the two Terrorcons whilst freeing Daniel and the others. Daniel explains to Chromedome that the Decepticons are planning to obliterate Mars. Chromedome contacts Fortress and tells him of the Decepticon plot, and Fortress finally decides to go to Mars.
Fortress arrives at Mars in his ship and asks Chromedome if he or the others know the bomb locations, but they don't. Seeing the Decepticon Headmasters in the distant, they decide to go and beat the information out of them. Before doing that Fortress tells Spike that Mars could explode at any time and tells him to use the Trainbots to transport himself, Daniel and Wheelie off Mars whilst they deal with things here, which they do.
The Autobot Headmasters fight their Decepticon equivalents, and eventually get the information they want: the explosives are located in a large crater nearby. The Decepticons run off as the Autobots go inside the crater, only to be greeted by lots of laser cannons which blast the Autobots relentlessly with explosive beams. Chromedome and the others tell Fortress to use the master sword and transform...
...Fortress can't at first but with his fellow Autobots in danger he gains more energy and starts the transformation process, but Zarak is watching. As Fortress prepares to transform into head mode, Zarak orders his Decepticons to fire...
...and they fire a missile straight at Fortress which hits him head-on and creates a giant explosion. Fortress is protected by the master sword, but this uses up all of it's energy and he falls back down to the planet's surface, having failed to transform. The narrator ends off this first part by stating that the Decepticon's plans to blow up Mars continue, and ponders how will Fortress be able to save Mars now?
Broadside is shown to take Chromedome and the other three Autobot headmasters to Mars, but he's never actually seen after that for some reason.
