The Dormant Volcano Mysteriously Erupts

At Autobot City Ultra Magnus and Scattershot are monitoring the unusual seismic activity that is happening in the Andes mountains. The narrator starts to explain where the mountains are and that the source of the tremors are in Peru.

And at Peru we get to see the guest-star of this episode, a boy called Pipiro . His parents are dead and he's been putting flowers on their graves and talks to his grandparents on the way back before meeting up with his sister. Suddenly everything begins to shake as another tremor happens, but then it gets even worse with an earthquake tearing apart the town.

On Athenia the Autobots are looking at the gas body that was seen in the previous episode. Highbrow zooms in on it and the shadows of what seems to be a large city appears. Chromedome believes that it must be a Decepticon fortress of some kind and Twincast sends out Steeljaw and Ramhorn to investigate further.

At Charr Zarak tells Sixshot that they need to distract the Autobots as much of possible and keep them busy protecting the Earth and keeping them away from planet Zarak where the new Decepticon weapon is being made.

The narrator once again explains what is going on. Planet Zarak is the name of the thing inside the gas body and it is where the new Decepticon weapon is being constructed by enslaved Battle Beasts whilst Octane makes sure they work all the time.

Back in Peru a volcano suddenly erupts and the entire town starts to evacuate, including Pipiro, Arisa (his sister) and the two mules that they look after. Hearing of the disaster happening in Peru, the Trainbots and Protectobots are sent out to rescue the civilians from the lava.

Sixshot is pleased that the Autobots are going to the disaster zone as it means they won't be heading to Planet Zarak anytime soon. As the Autobots arrive at Peru they find the Predacons in waiting. Shouki tells Hot Spot to take the other Protectobots and save the villagers whilst they fight the Predacons, which eventually leads to a fight between Predaking and Raiden.

As the Protectobots arrive the villagers start to celebrate as they'll be saved before the lava reaches them, but then the 3 Decepticon Headmasters sneakily appear and fight off the Protectobots, defeating them before they can save anyone.

Raiden knocks Predaking down but then the Decepticon Headmasters start to fight him. This is watched by Ultra Magnus and Silverbolt, the latter of which suggests that they send in more Autobots to help out, but Magnus can't spare anyone as Metroplex would be left undefended. Instead, Magnus contacts the other Autobots on Athenia and a group of them set out via Broadside, but Laserbeak is watching them. Laserbeak passes on what the Autobots are doing to Zarak and Soundblaster, and Zarak is pleased that the Autobots are going to Earth.

Broadside arrives in Peru and lets the Autobot Headmasters out to fight the Decepticons. Broadside (who is carrying Spike, Daniel and Wheelie) then tries to get to the trapped villagers but the volcanic eruption is so great that he is forced to turn back. Handling the Decepticons with ease Chromedome has the Trainbots sent to rescue the villagers instead and they pick up Spike, Daniel and Wheelie before attempting to get past the volcano, and they do by going up extremely high in the air in an arc motion to get across.

Back at the battle a thick red cloud appears, which has appeared due to the amount of ash in the air. Chromedome says that they can use this to their advantage and he gets Brainstorm to do something called the whirlwind technique where he spins around a lot in his jet mode, creating a whirlwind which stuns the Decepticons. Chromedome goes to help out the villagers whilst the others deal with the enemy.

With the Trainbots managing to get past the volcano, they land and the villagers start to climb onboard. With everyone on the Trainbots take off just in time as the lava engulfs the town, destroying it completely. Meanwhile the Autobots prove to be too strong and Weirdwolf has all of the Decepticons retreat.

On Charr Cyclonus and Scourge are wondering what Zarak's plan is, making the volcano explode seemed like a waste of time. Zarak then explains to them that he needed to distract the Autobots so he could collect the energy released when Cybertron exploded, and once he has it he'll crush the Autobots. Soundblaster then sounds the alarm, Steeljaw and Ramhorn have been spying on them! But they get away before anyone can stop them.

In Peru again Daniel, Wheelie and Pipiro are playing with Koro (Pipiro's mule) until Koro goes missing in a bush. They try to find him but the Decepticon Headmasters pop up and grab both Koro and Pipiro. Before the Autobots can attack Mindwipe points a gun at Pipiro's head and says if anyone moves, Pipiro dies. Weirdwolf then tells Chromedome to show them how the whirlwind technique works, but then Koro's mother randomly charges straight into Skullcruncher...

...and Chromedome shoots Mindwipe in the arm, giving Brainstorm enough time to jump kick him. Mindwipe drops Pipiro but he is caught by Highbrow. After the briefest of fights the Decepticons finally decide to call it a day and run off.

The Autobot Headmasters are impressed the the donkey rammed straight into a Decepticon, but having saved the villagers it's time for them to go back to Athenia. Saying there goodbyes, Arisa gives Chromedome a necklace as a thank you gift.

The Autobots Headmasters leave thanks to the Trainbots and head back to Athenia. When they get there Twincast informs them of the information gathered by Steeljaw and Ramhorn, and they wonder what Zarak is up to. The narrator then ends the episode by asking what are Zarak's plans and that the Autobots must be determined to stop him.

When Laserbeak is spying on Broadside, you can see what appears to be Cybertron in the background, despite that the planet was blown up just two episodes a go. It could be Charr but I don't think it is due to Charr not being that close to Athenia.

The title card for this episode must be the most over-dramatic one in the entire series, see it here. It would have worked a lot better in an episode like Planet Cybertron is in Grave Danger Part 2 or The Death of Ultra Magnus, in my opinion.
