Bomberman World

Achiachi Star

"Achiachi" is an onomatopoeic verb for cooking or frying.

This world is home to the mine cart; Bomberman is invincible while riding it, has a second of invincibility upon exiting the cart, and it will destroy any enemies, soft blocks or items in its path. It is essential to traversing Areas 4-1 and 4-2.

Area 3-1

ITEMS: Bomb Up, Remote Control, Boyoyon Bomb
ENEMIES: Kinoko Morugu, Handy x 2, Megadon
CRYSTALS: 4
TIME: 5:00

The switch will toggle the mine cart rail from a left turn to a straight horizontal path. You must ride the mine cart to the bottom-left, hit the switch, and then ride it again to access the right-hand side of the stage.
The volcano will wake up roughly every 20 seconds and spew 3 meteors onto both sides, which land within seven tiles of its position. Getting struck by a meteor will damage Bomberman.

Area 3-2

ITEMS: Fire Up x 2, Speed Up, Line Bomb, Geta
ENEMIES: Kinoko Morugu, Handy, Deathider x 2
CRYSTALS: 6
TIME: 5:00

You must rine the minecart to reach the lower level.

Area 3-3

ITEMS: Power Bomb, Heart, 1UP
ENEMIES: Farah x 3, Rock'n x 2, Core Mecha
CRYSTALS: 6
TIME: 5:00

There are cracks in the floor; if stepped on twice they will open up into holes that will harm Bomberman if stepped on. You must bomb the boulder in the top-right corner from the front to make it form a staircase to the lower level; don't stand in its way or you'll get squashed!

Area 3-4

TIME: 5:00

Fire Bomber (ファイアーボンバー) can lay bombs with a #-tile blast radius. His furnace attack protrudes a 5-tile stream of fire in the four cardinal directions, which lasts for 4 seconds as he walks around. If bombs are placed closed to him he will stop for 3 seconds and summon an array of fiery geysers which appear in random locations across the arena, typically close to Bomberman's position; where they appear is signified by a shadow before they spout, and each one lasts for 4 seconds.

As the only Dark Force Bomber without an attack that renders them invulnerable, Fire Bomber is somewhat easier to deal with. He moves slowly, and none of his attacks will move or prematurely detonate your bombs. So long as you know the signs of his furnace attack and not to box yourself in a corner, avoiding it shouldn't be difficult. His geyser attack is the ideal time to strike, as he's totally immobile during it.
Requires 5 hits to defeat.

Area 3-5

TIME: 5:00

Gangoron (ガンゴロン) is a trio of boulders with faces that will pursue Bomberman for 3 to 4 seconds, and is invulnerable in this state. Which face it exposes when it stops will signify the next attack.
The sad face will bounce around, stunning Bomberman for a second (unless he is riding Nyanjiro), before stomping the ground, launching eight projectiles in the cardinal and diagonal directions. As far as I can tell, Gangoron cannot harm Bomberman if it bounces on him.
The happy face will stomp the ground, launching eight projectiles in the cardinal and diagonal directions.
The angry face will stop for 8 seconds and launch 8 meteors, which land close to Bomberman's position.

The collision box on this boss is deceptively huge, spanning an approximately 7x7 tile space, making it easy to blunder into Gangoron and take damage. It travels at the same speed as Bomberman without Speed Ups, though you can lure it into a loop by walking between the left and right corners - this distance is long enough for Gangoron to have to stop and attack.
The sad and happy faces are too dangerous to attack without power-ups; it's easy to get stunned and crushed by the time it starts moving again. The angry face is the easiest attack to avoid, and gives you ample time to lay bombs. Nyanjiro is unfortunately of little use in this fight; while launching bombs can be helpful if you don't want to get close, both attacks will freeze you in place for two seconds, which is more than enough time for Gangoron to get on top of you.
Requires 11 hits to defeat. Worth 10000 points.

Nyanjiro / にゃんじろう

An orange cat-like creature. Can survive one attack.
Normal ability: Launches four bombs forward in a semi-circle; two 3 tiles ahead and 2 tiles to the side, and two 1 tile ahead and 4 tiles to the side. Nyanjiro cannot move for 1.5 seconds after performing this ability. If you have no Bomb Ups, only one bomb will be fired.
Special ability: Launches eight bombs in a full circle.

Kinoko Morugu (キノコモルグ): A walking mushroom. Moves aimlessly. Stops every 3 to 4 seconds to fire a projectile in the four cardinal directions. 200 points.
Kinoko is Japanese for "mushroom". Morugu is typically translated as "morgue"... and I'm not sure how it's relevant to this creature!

Handy (ハンティ): A blue glove. Moves slowly in Bomberman's direction. If it crosses a bomb, it will pick it up and throw it 2 tiles away; if it encounters a Remote Bomb or Boyoyon Bomb, it will jump on it and detonate it, taking no damage. If it gets close to Bomberman, it will speed up and pursue him for 7 seconds. 400 points.

Megadon (メガドン): A bouncing bomb with eyes. Moves aimlessly, changing direction every 3 tiles. If Bomberman crosses its X/Y axis, it will detonate with a 4-tile blast radius and continue on its way; can only be destroyed when it hasn't detonated itself. 200 points.

Deathider (デスパイダー): A yellow spider. Moves slowly in Bomberman's direction. If it gets within 4 tiles of Bomberman, will spray a web that spans the 3x3 tile square in front of it, stunning him for two seconds; this web can be fired through soft blocks. 200 points.

Farah (ファラー): A green-skinned pharaoh. Moves slowly, changing direction every 4 tiles. If Bomberman is within range it will stop and spray a 4-tile blast of fire in his direction; this flame will not detonate bombs. 200 points.

Rock'n (ロックン): Looks an ordinary soft block, but wakes up when Bomberman stands next to it; walks 8 or 9 tiles to find a new spot to rest on. 100 points.

Core Mecha (コアメカ): A roaming machine carrying a crystal. Moves incredibly slowly with no real direction. Drops a crystal when destroyed. 400 points.
