For all intents and purposes an expansion pack, Championship Lode Runner features the exact same formula of its predecessor, now with 50 brand new stages to conquer. Notably, you can no longer select any stage you want like in the first game - if you want to skip to any level beyond Stage 10, you need to enter a password.
It's also got a swanky new title screen. Dig that black background.

A compilation package containing Hudson's Famicom versions of Lode Runner and Championship Lode Runner in one cartridge. The 2-Player alternating mode from Lode Runner has been removed.


The Japanese version features a brick border around the options. The American release drops the border, moves the Broderbund credit to beneath the logo, and includes a credit for Douglas Smith.
