Ingestor and victory!

Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 11:49 pm Comments (5)

Yikes, how many weeks has it been without a new blog entry? I didn’t exactly mean to give the impression I’d died or gone textually mute or something, but I didn’t exactly have anything worth saying, either.

Regarding site updates…

“Your wife has a lovely neck.”

I said I’d have an update prepared for October, didn’t I? I’m really sorry I haven’t anything to show. I am working on a couple of things, but I haven’t really had the motivation to do as much work on them as I’d like to, partly because my attempts at improving my web design skills is also a total misery, and work is just getting me down. It’s a shame, as I definitely would’ve liked to at least have gotten something finished. Random Hoo Haas is five years old, and I commemorate the event by being a lazy bastard.

For once in my life, I’d like to be able to live up to my promises.

“[…] classic sci-fi that will delight fans with its painstaking recreation of an alien world […]”

Lost and found? Yes, I’d like to know what happened to my weekend. October’s halfway over and nobody even told me? I am very unhappy with this, you guys!

Mind you, I’m totally to blame. I’ve been trying to find a means of updating the Games I Own section so it’ll be easier to manage and less of a jumbled mess, but so far that just results in a lot of unproductive wasted time. Could I ask for help here?

My brother picked it up on a whim from Play.com and has been raving about it, so I sat down and watched Hunter Prey – a budget sci-fi flick made for the Sci-Fi Channel. In summary, a bunch of aliens (which get whittled down to only one guy in under twenty minutes) are chasing the last human in the galaxy, who is not at all pleased that these genocidal aliens have blown up Earth. That’s basically it for the whole ninety minutes.

Really.

“It’s like turning your radio dial to K-I-L-L.”

Wouldn’t it be hilarious if that previous entry was the last one ever?

Just been busy with work lately, so I wouldn’t be surprised if August slips us by without a single update. As always I’ve got a fair few ideas of stuff I want to do, it’s more just a matter of having the time and the motivation to go ahead and do it – two things work does a fantastic job of sapping out of me. I’m almost thinking it might just save us all a bit of heartache if I put the site on hiatus (as in an official hiatus, not one of my unofficial “holy shit I forgot about the website for like six weeks, what am I gonna do?!” hiatuses) and come back when I’ve got something to show. I mean, it’s not like I have much to blog about either!

Well, I did watch Dark Angel a few days ago.

Who wants to hear the nags of an indecisive webmaster?

Haven’t been up to much at all lately, I’m afraid. Life is mildly busy – mildly busy in the sense that I have stuff to do, even though said stuff is not exactly interesting, productive or even worth bothering with, but I guess just doing it is better than raising a stink about the issue. I suppose saying life is mildly boring would’ve been more accurate. My current events have been mildly boring. Perhaps on the verge of moderately boring!

With additional dialogue by William Shakespeare

Monday, June 28, 2010 at 5:11 pm Comments Off on With additional dialogue by William Shakespeare

I began watching the first series of Blackadder a week or so ago and finished the last episode tonight. Although I’m not as familiar with the series as I’d like to be, I positively love Blackadder Goes Forth, and I always love seeing how series can start off so humbly. The series truly shines with its razor-sharp wit and punchy dialogue, and it truly makes the best out of having three characters traipse around a single set for half the episode.

The first series isn’t like that.

What happened to the ostrich?

Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at 4:17 pm Comments (1)

You ever get that feeling where you don’t really wake up from a holiday? Like you’re so used to being a complete lazy bastard that you forget your regular life has its occasional periods of productivity every once in a while? Yeah, that’s what I’m having lately. I don’t think it helped that before I went away I was in the midst of a bad cold, so going from dying horribly to procrastinating terrifically probably wasn’t the best of combinations for my work ethic. Looks like it might be another couple of works before I get preparing something for the site. Doesn’t sound like fun.

Who wants to hear about mummers?

Sunday, June 20, 2010 at 11:13 am Comments Off on Who wants to hear about mummers?

I’m back. I actually returned home yesterday but I’ve kind of been such a lazy unproductive ass for so long that I was truly unable to write anything. Despite the fact that I’d been keeping a crude journal of my days away, so I could have just copied something from it and through a few pop culture references into it. But I didn’t, because I’m just that lazy.

If there’s a zombie apocolypse I am so taking a crate load of Kleenex

Y’know, when I started the WordPress one of my ideas was to have a stupid piece of doodling included in each entry, just to liven things up a little. If this is the kind of pleasant imagery I’m going to include, might be best if I didn’t.

If you hadn’t guessed, I’ve got a cold again and it’s left me completely vegetated. I’m serious, I did nothing but sit on my arse all day and play Left 4 Dead 2 because I was literally unable to do anything else. Which is all fine and well in its own right, but when I seriously want to be productive and start doing a bit of work, it’s not so cool. I hope to have a General Writing and maybe an update to the Red Dwarf Section sometime before July, but we’ll just see what happens. You kinda lose the incentive to write when you’re coughing up enormous boogers every day.

Yes, you needed to know that.

The vision never dies / Life’s a never ending wheel

Sunday, May 30, 2010 at 2:36 pm Comments Off on The vision never dies / Life’s a never ending wheel

And so ends the episode coverage of Cadillacs And Dinosaurs. It’s been an entertaining run, and I’m glad to have given a bit of attention to a cartoon I actually like and not just something I covered solely because it’s a video game adaptation (it was nice to have an opportunity to riff on their general sloppiness, but summarising both House of the Dead movies was a bit of a slog). There’ll be the usual intro and character pages soon enough, but I’ll also be making a page comparing it to the original comic and the changes made in its transition to television, which should be pretty fun!

Also today’s episode has an image of Hannah’s ass, so you know I’m looking out for you, Wes. =P
