Resident Evil/Biohazard (GameCube)

In 2001 Capcom decided to make a poor business decision and have all the Resident Evil games exclusive to the GameCube. First up in the range was a remake of the original 1996 game, but obviously toned up graphically to make it a show piece game for the GC.

When Capcom first released images showing off the new remake, they made some screens which were never seen anywhere in the final. Here's one.

Another.

Another one.

And another, originally entitled "the fire room" by fans. You can see this one animate here.

A laser weapon?! At one point, there was. It fires a beam of light around and most likely would have had an ammo percentage like the flame thrower does. Sadly, the laser was cut from the game, the main reason being that people thought it was too "sci-fi". See more of the laser here.

Jill was originally going to be able to use martial arts moves, in some videos you can see her punching and high kicking, but all of these extra attacks ending up being dropped from the final version.

There are also some images of Chris using the flame thrower in places he usually can't, in the final he can only ever use it in the underground caves section.

I can't remember there ever being spiders here. In the final, this area is only ever populated by either zombies or hunters.

There are no small snakes in this area in the final version.

Aren't usually any crows here either.

This screen usually appears just after the warning screen. However, here it has different colours. This was used in the US trailer for the game.

Different character select screen, notice the mis-spelling of "character" in the top left corner.
