3D Movie Maker
I got these pictures myself. =D
These images come from a "demo" of 3D Movie Maker (I believe it was included in other Microsoft Kids programs, but not sure if it was included in all of them), that was more of a promotional video than a demo. Demo pictures on the left, final product images on the right.
The ruffles and shadows on the curtains are a little different, and the pillars are slightly different as well. The video segments in the final are the same, with only minor colour changes.
It’s probably just a result of the video file’s compression or something, but the colours of the items on the desk seem a lot duller, such as the pink liquid becoming a vomit-brown, the vibrant green becoming a dull grey-green mix, and the lively yellow becoming a urine colour.
This camera angle isn't used in the final! It's a shame, it's a pretty good angle, and it shows just how small and cramped the laboratory is.
The video then moves onto the actors, and the models are entirely different from the final. They appear to be more refined than the final's, with a better sense of shading and lighting and jib-jab. And look there! Billy has individual fingers in the video! =0
So for the unaware, the big guy is Billy, the woman is Bella, and the robot is Crash. Say hello, guys!
Here, Billy has . . .
What looks like a red and white striped beanie.
A pink shirt.
Light blue shorts.
White socks.
White shoes with a pink stripe on them.
In the final, Billy can't wear any kind of hat; has a pink shirt that looks little like the video version; can only wear shorts (and his light blue trousers have weird white specks on them); has no white socks, and no white shoes, only all-pink shoes.
Bella has . . .
A white dress with some unidentifiable shapes on it.
Brown shoes.
The final Bella can't wear any white dresses, and is permanently stuck with turquoise shoes with no shading.
Crash has . . .
A green vest with a blue circle + red triangle design.
Red shorts.
Green boots with red and yellow parts.
Crash has the same clothes in the final, except the shorts are trousers, and the boots appear to be shorter.
Billy has . . .
Plain light blue shirt.
Some kinda girdle?
Red trousers.
Blue socks.
Blue shoes with white fronts.
In Billy's final wardrobe, the closest thing to the blue shirt is his police uniform; has nothing resembling a girdle; red trousers, but they've got some weird design on them; and no blue socks or shoes.
Bella has . . .
A purple dress, but it looks grey due to weird compression.
A belt with a skull on it.
Purple boots.
Bella has the purple dress and skull belt in the final, but the dress has an abstract pattern on it, and the belt is much more stylised. No boot changing, though.
Crash is . . .
NAKERS!!! =0
Crash can be one with nature in the final, with no differences other than the alternate model, of course.
Billy has . . .
A police hat.
A light blue police uniform.
Light blue trousers.
Black boots.
Some kinda tattoo.
Billy's clothing in the final include the police uniform, but it's darker and more of a navy colour, with more details; trousers become navy as well; black boots with gold buckles; but he's missing the police hat due to his inability to wear headgear, and he has a heart tattoo in the final, but the tattoo there just looks like a big pink blob.
Bella has . . .
A grey dress.
Black boots.
Bella has no grey dresses, and can't change her shoes.
Crash has . . .
A police hat
A light blue police uniform.
Light blue pants?
White heels.
Crash has all of them in the final, excluding the hat. The only difference is that the uniform and pants thing are navy.
It's worth noting that Billy there has blonde hair and a grey moustache. In the final product, he can only have his hair and moustache share the same colour.
Although barely noticeable with how this is shrunk, the display in the window near the café is hazy and therefore you can’t see it at all in the video. Also, the bin is lifted up a tad, so you can a little more of it’s bottom. The colour is also severely washed out in the video, more so than other angles, but again, probably a compression issue.
The sky is different, the height has been moved a tad (as in the bottom gets cut off to show more of the top), the orange pole is angled slightly differently (probably a result of the angle changing), and that big white thing near the vases has two extra black lines added to it in the demo. Ignore the two actors running there.
The camera is a lot more to the left (thus removing the alleyway from sight, but letting us see more of the street) and up a tad. It also seems to be angled different, with more of a tilt.
The font is entirely different in the video, looking a lot smoother, shinier, with actual shading and much superior animation.
The cinema background is a lot different, where instead of a cinema appearance, it’s just a blue mechanical-looking background with shadows of people watching.
And that's all the different stuff from the video. It's an interesting little watch, and captivated me when I first saw it years ago, and I still love the little program. The video ends with a screen about information and whatnot, and in the corner, it says "Demo by HyperDyne". Googling doesn't reveal much about them, as it finds several companies and sites named HyperDyne.
We're now onto the Talent Book pages. Spoilers ahead, but it's not much really, they're dead easy to find and it's not like they reveal much. ZOMG BINO IS NIGERIAN is about the most spoiler-ific it gets.
