This is where I just herd in everything I can; cheats, tips, trivia, fun facts, and other such things.

CHEATS & TIPS

[Pause Light cheat] In a cave where you need the Lamp to see anything, screw that. Pause and then unpause. The room will be lit for a split second. Enough for you to get the basic idea for making your way around.

[Ultimate tactic] Once you get the Homing Bombs and Power Glove and equip them both, you can essentially defeat every enemy with relative ease that way, with only about two enemies you can't. No, seriously.

[Cheat device codes] Apparently, no one cares about the game enough to make any codes for it, except for an invincibility code (014082CE) that comes at the cost of making your save file disappear, screwing up the HUD and graphics, and other such errors.

[Monster totals] Although it's not mentioned in the manual or in the library, holding Select while highlighting a monster on the monster list will show how many times you've beaten them.

[Secret Boss 1] After you defeat Electro Commander, return to Water Commander's room, and you'll encounter Mami. Defeat her for an additional unit of health to your maximum.

[Secret Boss 2] Return to Electro Commander's room after you've beaten Hurricommander, and you'll face Reuishia. You get another unit of health to your maximum for beating her.

[Secret Boss 3] And the last secret boss, Deral, is located in Hurricommander's room after Pyro Commander is destroyed, and will get you another 1HP to your max for winning against her.

[Bomb Fusing tip] Before you go and use your Explosive Cores, check what result you will get. To be honest, the Long-fused Bomb and Ice Bomb are the only ones that are necessary to complete the game. Do you really need a bomb that curves or one that causes a five second status effect?

[Shovelling finds] Here's a list of what you'll find from shovelling.

B6 Skull.
C4 Explosive Core.
C6 Ice Shard.
D4 Flame.
E7 Boomerang. (you'll need the Teleport Armour to reach the area it's buried in)
G6 Poison Ivy.
Forest Cave: 1 Rubber.
[anywhere]

Mini-hearts.

[Invisible discoveries] And a list of the miniscule amount of items you find with the Glasses.

A1 - Clock (you'll need the Teleport Armour to reach it)

C5 - Armoured Jacket

G3 - Rocket Shoes

H8 - Gold Armour

[Bomberman statues] There are four of these around the world, and using the !? ability in front of them will grant you an item.

A5 - Clock

B3 - Stopwatch

G1 - Explosive Core

H5 - Teleport Armour

TRIVIA

[Secret character origins] Strangely, despite being on an entirely different console, the three secret bosses are from the SEGA Saturn title Saturn Bomberman Fight!!, which had been released the previous year in Japan. It didn't get an English release and only one of the bosses is named, making for rather confusing dialogue in the English version. Once the Japanese version is translated I can get relaying some more details on the characters, but at this point in time all I know are their names! The young girl with pigtails is Mami, and the sole character to be named in the English version. The second secret boss is Reuishia, who doesn't get an official English name, unfortunately (her name can be Romanised in a million different ways!). The last is Deral, the final boss of Fight!! and despite her desire to claim the spotlight for herself, this is her second and last appearance.

[Bomberman Tournament] Although it doesn't continue the story or feature any of the important characters from this game, it's essentially a spiritual sequel to Quest. It also takes more than an hour to complete and, personally, I think it doesn't even compare to this.
